is a riverside town in Pest county, near the capital city. It is known for its museums, galleries, and artists. It has become a popular destination for tourists staying in Budapest and there are many shops and restaurants catering for these visitors.
If you go by car you should use Motorway No. 11 takes from Budapest to Szentendre. The suburban railway service departing from Batthyány Square in Budapest (M2 red metro line) and takes you to Szentendre in 40 minutes. Trains depart in around every 10-15 minutes in high peak. Buses depart in the direction of Szentendre and Esztergom from Árpád Bridge coach station. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

The exhibition examines the works of constructivist painter Jenő Barcsay, a master of modern art, starting with works from the 1920's and ending with his last piece.

The Museum presenting the life and works of the painter Béla Czóbel exhibits his paintings and graphic works illustrating the mood of his beginnings, the years in Nagybánya, Paris, and his last pieces.

Main Square contains the artworks of the Ferenczy family: Károly Ferenczy a famous post-Impressionist, his wife and his children's works are also exhibited: tapestry by Noémi Ferenczy and modern sculptures by his brother, Béni Ferenczy.

Along with the works of painter János Kmetty the museum's cellar now gives home to sculputures by Jenő Kerényi.

Ceramist and sculptor, Margit Kovács, one of the reformers of the ceramic arts, donated a significant part of her life's work to the museum in 1972. It is the most visited museum in Hungary. Visitors can become acquainted with the work of a singularly interesting artist in this exhibition space on several levels. Her figurative art is particularly engaging; her slender, folk-inspired yet realistic statuettes can be found here alongside the work inspired by Szentendre, evoking the world of religious life.

The Szentendre Gallery (Szentendrei Képtár) is the largest exhibition space at present in the town, can be found in a former Serbian Merchant House (Szerb Kereskedő Ház). The gallery accommodates a collection of the Ferenczy Museum.

The museum is located opposite the Serbian Belgrade Cathedral. It houses great collection of Serbian ecclesiastical artifacts: icons, textiles and other relics from the 16th-19th centuries.

This is Hungary's first marzipan museum. The exhibition displays the art of marzipan making, including some masterpieces of confectionery, such as the 160 centimetre-tall model of the Parliament building.

Museum introduces the work of the famous confectioner József Dobos. He created the luscious Dobos cake (rich chocolate cream between layers of sponge topped with crunchy caramel) which you can try in the museum's Nosztalgia cafe.
