INTRODUCTION TO SARVAR


Sárvár is situated in the western part of Hungary. It lies in Vas County in the Valley of the river Rába. The most attractive part of the Sarvar area is its two completely different types of healing water. The healing water reaches a temperature of 43 °C. This salt medicinal healing water can be used effectively in the treatment of certain ailments and locomotive diseases, dermatological and gynecological diseases, rehabilitative after-treatment (including sport injuries) and neurological complaints.


The Spa and Wellness Centre Sárvár

The idea of wellness in thermalbath is becoming increasingly popular in Hungary. The pools (baths) of the complex are filled with alkaline hydrogen carbonate medicinal healing water, which is used to treat the following disorders:

  • Chronic degenerative spine and joint complaints
  • Chronic inflammatory phase of locomotive diseases
  • Soft tissue rheumatism
  • Muscle cramp (the reduction of)
  • Muscle bruising and the wearing out of joints
  • After treatment of sport injuries

  • Chronic gynecological diseases including inflammation and infertility

Spa is not advisable for visitors suffering from

  • Severe heart, circulation and breathing disorders
  • Incontinence
  • Fever
  • Malignant tumours
  • Diseases which result in severe inflammation
  • Tuberculosis
  • Thrombosis, severe cases of varicose vein
  • Pregnancy
  • Asthmatic bronchitis

WHAT TO SEE


The Nádasdy Castle

The museum’s entrance is situated inside the vaulted hall beyond the gate. Upstairs, there is the Great Hall, which is one of Hungary’s most imposing Baroque interiors. The museum’s rooms are home to thematical exhibits (historical, on the history of printing and cartography, of applied arts). The town library and cultural centre are reached from the irregular pentagon-shaped, enclosed inner courtyard. The temporary exhibits of Galeria Arcis, located in the building, showcase the works of noted Hungarian and foreign artists. Opposite the Nádasdy Castle stands the Evangelical church built in a Classicist style.


Arboretum

Is located next to the castle. There are more than 100 unusual tree species offering hours of relaxation.
